Happy Eating Dance Videos

video video

I am pleased to announce the debut videos of the Happy Eating Dance. Preston started doing this when he was really little, stopped for a few months, and now has picked up right where he left off. Unfortunately he can always tell when a camera is on him and gets a bit shy-hence the first video. But by the second take he had loosened up and was ready to go.

In No Particular Order

On Friday night Don and Mary drove down from Eagar to spend some time with Preston and go to the DBacks game...Preston's first ever!
Saturday morning we all slept in and hung out except Caleb who mowed the back yard grass for the first time! Then Don and Mary took us to Texas Roadhouse for some yummy grub and we wandered the mall after to waste time. Then I went home while everyone went to the game early to collect their bobbleheads. I am sad I missed the game but I had Stats homework to get done and it was a whoping 115 degrees. Everyone else had fun though! And Preston ate up all the attention from other fans that sat around them and got spoiled by his grandma and grandpa.
This morning we all slept in and had a great Sunday morning. Caleb made us all yummy food on the BBQ and we all had fun wrestling Preston in sacrament meeting. Good time.

I Hereby Vow...

to never again travel with a 8-12 month old.

I also reserve the right to extend that age to suit my sanity.

This means no more travelling this summer, or next. Not for funerals, batmitzvahs, holidays, weddings, reunions OR just 'cuz. Got it people? No dying or doing eventful things further than 30 minutes from Queen Creek....OR ELSE WE WON'T BE THERE.

We actually had a decent weekend away. The weather up north was really nice and there was a storm both evenings we were there, which I thought was really nice. Caleb's reunion was on Friday night and was pretty fun despite the 20 minute slideshow of the same 10 people which was also full of classically annoying graduation songs like Green Day's Good Riddance. Caleb was stoked to see some of his old buddies. And Aunt Jenny was kind enough to watch Preston for us-so we could enjoy the evening without him-thanks Aunt Jenny!!

Saturday morning we attempted to go to the pancake breakfast that the fire department puts on but slept in a bit too late and the line was horrendous. So instead we went to Arby's and then staked out some stops in front of the Crosby home for the parade. It was hot but Preston did great-especially after we doused him in water and kept squirting water in his mouth. He got scared a couple times from the loud sirens and burst out crying-but it was pretty stinking cute.
Saturday evening we ditched Preston with Aunt Jenny again and went to TJ and Chandra's gorgeous home and watched while TJ set off fireworks. I was glad Caleb didn't blow his arm off. We then all went to the Tieman house and watched the fun firework show from the amazing view on their front porch. I was very impressed with the show that a small town could put on! It was better than any show I have seen in the valley!!

Sunday we hung out a bit in the morning, and because I wasn't feeling great, decided to take off and head home. Preston did okay as long as there was something to munch in his mouth. His shrill screams can make anyone go nutty after 5 minutes though....

It's good to be home. Not much going on this week. Another doctor's appointment on Friday(I am hoping we schedule the c-section!).

A Painting Job Well Done

DONE! DONE! DONE! Ignore the crappy lighting from our cheap light bulbs! It makes it look so green! In natural light it's much more of a grey and not really green at all. Next stop: some vinyl lettering above the bed, and a nauseatingly large picture of us on another wall. I think we are gonna take a break from painting for awhile....I'm thinking painting party for the living room in November. Anyone game?

Look At Us Go!

Presto before swim lessons last week. He LOVES to watch everyone in the water.

Just a random picture for the Grandmas.

New and improved wall of our room!

We have had a pretty busy week, hence the lack of postings!
This last week I was continuing my plague with an eye infection. After 2 eye doctor appointments, and a third on Monday, it is almost cleared up. Sadly, I have to limit wearing contacts until after I deliver Elliott though. One more reason for her to hurry up! I have also been absolutely exhausted, but am lucky to have Caleb who is willing to deal with my whining and laziness. I had my online midterm yesterday for Statistics-halfway through!! Thursday I also had enrichment night where we had a red/white/blue theme and made kabobs for 75 ladies. Once again, Caleb saved the day and didn't complain when I volunteered him to be the designated grillmaster.
Caleb has also had a busy week. He was able to work from home on Wednesday, which was SOOO nice. But Thursday and Friday he was pretty loaded. He also took a test for the IRS online Friday that hopefully will help him to eventually apply for a position with them in the next few months. He has also been sticking to his marathon training and diet like a champ.
Preston has been impatiently going along with all of our antics. Caleb and I took him swimming on Wednesday evening, and he had his last swim lesson (with the school we had him at) today. Last Saturday he completely melted down during his lesson, but today he did GREAT. In all fairness he had a different instructor who did more one-on-one time with him though. Because of his lesson today, I have decided I'll probably sign him up a different school that is much cheaper and held at a more kid-friendly pool.
Lately he has been doing some pretty funny things that keep us pretty entertained sometimes! He LOVES to wrestle with Caleb, and likes to use his large head as a weapon. He also has been making this weird kissy sucky sound with his mouth. I have been trying to work with him on clapping lately and it's pretty funny how he hits his hands together. He has also been driving us nutty with relentlessly crawling into the kitchen and climbing the stairs. We have put up gates now to help us keep our sanity!
After having a such a hectic week, we didn't do much last night. Today though, Caleb reseeded the parts of the backyard that were looking patchy after our original grass seeding 3 weeks ago. Then we went to Presto's lesson, and then Caleb and I got to work on painting our bedroom. At first the color seemed a bit scary dark, but I am loving it now. We (and by 'we' I mean 'mostly Caleb') finished almost the whole bedroom, but still have most of one wall and the trim of another to complete. Final pictures soon! We then all cleaned up and went to Barro's for a yummy dinner. Preston only let out ONE blood curdling scream out during the whole meal! Progress! We then have vegged out all evening, watched some Harry Potter, and Caleb is currently out on a 9 mile run while I blog.
This coming week is more of the same ol' same ol'. Caleb has his 10 year reunion in Eagar next weekend so we are planning on going up for that as well as for the holiday. Cross your fingers for Preston (and my stomach!) to cooperate on the trip!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Caleb. Preston, Elliott, and I love you lots and don't know what we'd do without you!

We sorta failed at our attempt at giving Caleb a great Father's Day gift!! You see, to sum it up, I wanted to get Caleb a grill that would hook up into our natural gas line, and I decided to go a cheaper route and buy a natural gas 'convertable' grill instead of a natural gas grill....with the help of a Home Depot employee (who could stand a bit more training) I ended up buying the wrong thing...2 more trips to Home Depot, and 10 hours of headache later, we are now the proud owners of a slightly damaged (yet marked down!) PROPANE powered grill. And the large spider that lives in the natural gas spout can keep his home....

Tonight we are grilling up some yummy steaks and potatoes and watching a lil Kung Fu Panda.

Also, Happy Father's Day to my Dad and Caleb's Dad! We sure do appreciate the time, means, and love that you are always willing to sacrifice!

A Little Elliott-ness

Here ya go people! More pictures of Elliott from yesterday.
